Images from Morrowind show that older games will have access to RTX support

Nvidia will make an application called RTX Remix available that will allow older games like The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind to use ray tracing and receive further graphical enhancements. There's no reason why older games can't join the party given that games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Portal have been updated to implement DLSS 3, the most recent iteration of Team Green's Deep Learning Super Sampling upscaling algorithm. Ray tracing and AI-powered visual improvements are becoming more common.

The RTX Remix mod tool may make Morrowind appear a little more contemporary, as shown by a number of images shared on Twitter by user Nibel. With the help of ray tracing and texture upscaling, the game's images show side-by-side comparisons between how items currently appear and how they would after those techniques were applied. The new version has far better lighting, much better visuals, and much more detail, so the difference is really obvious. There is currently no official release date for the Remix tool, despite Nvidia's assertions that it will be released soon.

Ray tracing capabilities and other AI-powered visual breakthroughs are currently taken for granted by the industry.

Although many assume it will be employed in more current releases, it is also used in games that don't place as much emphasis on graphics or older titles.

Compared to older games like Morrowind, Minecraft supports Nvidia's RTX algorithm despite having only been launched in 2011. Morrowind is an undisputed classic in Bethesda's long-running epic genre, even if Daggerfall likely holds the record for the largest Elder Scrolls game to date.
