Zombie Survival MMO The Day Before Releases 10 Minutes of Gameplay Footage

The Day Before, a post-apocalyptic shooter that was once scheduled for release at some time in 2021, has had several delays and difficulties, sowing uncertainty in the hearts of its supporters and evoking analogies to the similarly troubled survival horror project Abandoned. Developer Fntastic recently stated that it will provide ten minutes of brand-new gameplay footage, but later withdrew the offer owing to a purported copyright issue. The developer then changed their mind again, saying that the tape was released on February 2, 2023.

One of the most highly awaited survival-crafting games on Steam at one point was The Day Before. The game's listing was mysteriously removed and hasn't been replaced, and suspicion is growing as the developer appears to be involved in an odd copyright dispute that, in the opinions of the majority of fans, casts Fntastic in a less-than-flattering light. It appears that Fntastic, a company that uses volunteers, has taken on more than it can handle. Previously, the studio was solely known for small adventures that were quickly forgotten.

Despite The Day Before's unique circumstances, the team was able to deliver the promised gameplay footage inside the ballpark period it had stated. The gameplay appears to center around building and customizing weapons, and combat appears to be pretty basic, as was the case with games like DayZ. Unfortunately, the clip gives off a limited and somewhat unnatural impression, which worries many who were excited for the game's release.

The developers eventually chose to switch to the Unreal 5 engine and push out The Day Before until March 2023, even if the initial 2021 release schedule may have been overly ambitious. That is, until the publisher issued a new delay announcement in late January, saying the game will now be released in November 2023. Few would argue against delaying a game if it meant that the development cycle would be improved; but, when delays occur frequently, it's frequently not a good sign for the project.

The Day Before should perhaps use early access, even though the concept has been tainted by years of poor management by disorganized developers. Even though it may not yet have all of its features, if the new gameplay teaser is to be believed, there may be enough to end the never-ending cycle of delays by releasing a playable prototype soon. Even though it differs greatly from the intended experience, it might aid in repairing the title's and the developer's failing reputations.
