Valve Reveals February's Most Played Games on Steam Deck

Recent data from Valve revealed which games Steam Deck owners played the most in February 2023. A healthy mix of new games and older games that can be played on the handheld PC have previously appeared on lists of the most-played games on Steam Deck.

Little over a year ago, Valve's Steam Deck was made available and rapidly became well-liked by PC gamers. Many PC games were upgraded to add support for Steam Deck after it started to catch on with gamers, and newer games soon followed suit, such as the 2023 remake of Dead Space, which was verified for Steam Deck just a few weeks after release. Similar trends were observed in other 2023 Steam releases, like Hi-Fi Rush and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.

The most current variation of this list, for February 2023, was just made available by Valve. The company has been using its Twitter account to tell users of the most played titles on Steam Deck for each month. Hogwarts Legacy, which was published in the first week of February, is at the top of the list, but like the list of the most popular Steam Deck games for December 2022, it is also filled with highly anticipated 2022 titles like Elden Ring, Vampire Survivors, and the PC rerelease of Persona 5 Royal.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Stardew Valley are just a few examples of older games that are listed on Steam as either certified or playable on Steam Deck. The inclusion of Cyberpunk 2077, which was just recently confirmed for Steam Deck, is a fascinating choice. Cyberpunk 2077 has consistently been of the most-played titles on Steam Deck in prior months, despite this very late verification.

The fact that the Steam Deck is an accessible yet capable portable PC gaming solution has helped the device attract a significant user base. The fact that titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring, which are recognized for their complex graphics, are constantly featured as some of the most popular portable games, reflects this. Although the continuing efforts by game developers to make their titles compatible with the platform indicate that there will be more for players to enjoy on Steam Deck, some of this popularity may be attributed to Steam Deck plugins that provide significant performance enhancements.
